COMPANY SUMMARY
Salimah's Fashion Design, LLC was developed by its Founder, President, Wanda Palmer back in 2007 out of her home. Having established a client base in the Newark area, Palmer began designing and sewing for herself and her friends requesting original designs that appealed to their sense of style. Her unique ability to create that perfect outfit, using colors and fabric that can be worn anywhere—going from one venue to another, resulted in the increased demand for her creations.
PRODUCT & SERVICES
Salimah's Fashion Design, LLC specializes in unique designs for primarily women's sizes 0-plus size and men's clothing, specializing in custom tailoring. It is her fashion sense that enables her to serve such a broad age spectrum. Her designs encompass casual as well as dress and evening attire. The products are produced using high quality materials and craftsmanship. The items currently being offered are blouses, skirts, suit, dresses, pants, scarves and some accessories. The typical item sold by Salimah's Fashions is made up of a substantial amount of hand finishing. Future lines may result in more mass produced items, but the bulk of the business output will be initially geared towards her established affinity market.
Any Product that may have issues of fit and tailoring are rapidly addressed by the company. Although this is seldom, if ever, has happened with her product.
MY HISTORY
Wanda Palmer is the founder and President of Salimah's Fashion Design, LLC. Palmer's introduction to fashion was through her mentor, Tish Strickland. Palmer states, "She was my role model." Palmer and her friends have always been preoccupied with fashion. Her ultimate lifelong dream is to design and manufacture clothing with a design flair.
Palmer's first fashion show, at the Harvest Café in Newark, NJ, received acclaim and garnered a list of clients as well as potential cutters, sewers, backers to launch Salimah's Fashion Design, LLC into a mainstream fashion style. Palmer would go to New York, buy fabric and tailor it to specific customer needs to make her vision come true.
Palmer wants to thank God, family and friends for contributing to her success.
